Wrinkles are a normal part of the aging process and everyone gets them over a period of time. Fine lines appear first, and then the creases deepen when the skin begins to lose its elasticity. One can use various measures to prevent or delay the appearance of wrinkles-

  • Sun protection- Avoiding UV exposure reduces skin damage. So use a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher every day, and wear a hat and covered clothing when going out to protect the skin.
  • Moisturizing regularly- Moisturizing prevents dryness and improves elasticity of skin.
  • Quit smoking and drinking- Smoking greatly speeds up skin aging and causes skin wrinkles. Alcohol dehydrates skin which causes damage over time.
  • Eating a healthy balanced diet- Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables can prevent skin damage, whereas sugar and refined carbs can speed up skin aging.
  • Drink Ample Water- a well hydrated skin ages slowly.
  • Anti- aging creams- they contain retinol, vitamin C, AHA, peptides which can smoothen fine lines to some extent.
  • Anti-oxidants and Collagen Supplements
